Contrary to what you may think after some of our recent communications we really don't like putting out emergency pleas for money. It's always been our strategy to avoid this by asking members to sponsor one (or more) of our 350 cats on a monthly basis.

 

We relaunched our sponsorship initiative in the Autumn of 2023 and it became very successful, raising about £1500 a month at its peak. However, perhaps unsurprisingly given the increasing cost of living worldwide and the fact that members come and go, income from sponsorship is now struggling to reach £500 a month and we are having to put out more and more emergency pleas to reach our basic costs of £5000 a month. That's despite doing regular fundraising as well.

 

We ask you to consider sponsoring a cat. You may even fall in love with him/her and decide to adopt them - I did, or you may have the great pleasure in seeing your protegee find a new home. It's fair to say that not all our cats will find a home and will need to stay in the loving care of Sherouk and Amira for life. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing they will forever have the safety of that loving home.

 

To sponsor an adult cat for a month costs £25, a kitten £20. This covers food, litter, accommodation and vets' fees (which can be considerable). We know that not everyone can make a monthly commitment so please contribute if and when you can. We also know that not everyone can afford £25 but may be willing to sponsor a half or even a quarter of a cat😊 so that too is very welcome because often you can do a sponsorship share with someone else in the same situation. We can do the matchmaking. We believe the amounts above are very reasonable particularly as some rescues now ask for £50 per cat and we have no Reserves whatsoever to fall back on.
